Traci Stein to Lead Grant County Development 

The Grant County Development Corporation (GCDC) is excited to announce that it has hired Traci Stein as its next Executive Director. Traci will begin her full-time duties on April 24th. Traci is GCDC’s fourth Executive Director in its 38-year history, succeeding George Smith, Bobbie Bohlen, and Krista Atyeo-Gortmaker who have served as past Executive Directors; with Smith filling the inaugural position in 1994. 

“We are excited to make this announcement to the community”, said Brian Sandvig, GCDC president. “Traci brings a wealth of regional economic development experience to the table and is poised to providing meaningful leadership to GCDC’s housing, daycare, and industrial park expansion initiatives, on day one.” 

Stein has served in various leadership roles for the Watertown Development Company for the last 16 years and has a played a key role in many of Watertown, SD’s housing, daycare, retail, commercial, and industrial expansion initiatives. She has a history of working collaboratively with state and community leaders to create impactful change to the local economy. GCDC is excited to support her efforts to do the same in Milbank and greater Grant County.
