Koch Senior Living Center: The Beginning Stages
In January 2021, the Development Corporation began seeking a developer to demolish the old building formerly used as the Koch School to make way for Senior Housing.
In April of 2021, the Developer, SLH Holdings was chosen as the awarded group to demolish the buildings and bring additional senior living to Milbank, South Dakota. GCDC was able to publish a request for proposal that was answered by HME, who created the Koch Senior Living facility.
In August of 2021, the Milbank School District completed the transaction of selling the Koch school property to the Grant County Development Corporation. The GCDC, in turn, sold the property to the SLH Holdings Company as the developer. Demolition began shortly thereafter to create way for the Senior Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care campus which is slated to open in February 2023.
