Milbank Elementary School
Milbank School District recently completed the construction of a new elementary school. The 84,800 SF Elementary addition was added to the existing Middle School/High School. The school includes a new gymnasium, music room, cafeteria, library, offices, and kindergarten-fifth grade classrooms.

The Milbank School District held an election, September 18. The measure passed with 798 in favor and 323 opposed- With 71.2 percent voting in favor of the measure, the necessary approval rating of 60 percent was far exceeded.
Voters said “Yes” to this ballot question:
Shall the Milbank School District 25-4, Grant and Roberts counties, South Dakota, issue its negotiable general obligation school bonds in a principal amount not exceeding $15,930,000, issued in one or more series bearing interest at such rates as may be determined by the school board, payable and maturing from one and not to exceed 30 years after the date of issuance for the purpose of financing the construction of a new elementary school facility and costs of costs of issuance?
Milbank Superintendent Tim Graf says, “We had a strong voter turnout and the good weather helped to facilitate that. I want to thank the election workers and all of the local media outlets for helping to get factual information out prior to the bond issue. The patrons of the District have always been very supportive of education and today is another example of this. We have strong traditions of providing an excellent education and today’s vote will help to insure that this continues. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Thank you to all who voted.”
